Fractional CMO London

Fractional marketing leadership for London businesses that need clarity, focus and commercial momentum.

London is home to some of the UK’s most ambitious and fast-moving organisations - from global financial services firms and established professional services brands through to scaling SaaS businesses, commercial real estate companies and high-growth startups. But as businesses grow, marketing can quickly become reactive, overstretched or disconnected from wider commercial priorities.

That’s usually where I come in.

I provide fractional CMO support to London businesses that need experienced senior marketing leadership without the commitment of a full-time hire.

Sometimes that means helping leadership teams sharpen growth strategy and align marketing more closely to commercial goals. Sometimes it’s supporting launches, improving marketing effectiveness or bringing structure and direction to evolving teams.

Whatever the challenge, the goal is usually the same:
clearer priorities, stronger alignment and more commercially effective marketing.

Helping London businesses grow with clearer marketing leadership

Who I work with

I work with founders, CEOs, CMOs, Managing Directors, Commercial Directors and product marketing leaders who need experienced senior marketing leadership without committing to a full-time hire.

Usually, these are organisations that are growing quickly, evolving, launching something new or trying to bring more focus and commercial impact to marketing. Some clients need ongoing fractional CMO support, while others bring me in for specific projects, launches or periods of change.

Sectors

I primarily work with B2B and growth-focused organisations across London and beyond, including professional services, financial services, technology, commercial real estate, publishing and scale-ups.

I understand the pace, complexity and commercial pressure these organisations operate within, and help teams sharpen positioning, improve marketing effectiveness and build more focused growth strategies.

Challenges I solve

I help organisations where marketing feels busy but not clearly connected to growth. That might mean unclear priorities, stretched teams, inconsistent messaging, launches that need more strategic oversight or marketing structures that no longer fit the business.

I help leadership teams simplify complexity, align around what matters and create a more commercially focused approach to marketing.

How I work

My approach is designed to create momentum quickly.

Most engagements begin with a clarity call or workshop to understand the business, the current challenges and where support would make the biggest difference.

From there, support can range from ongoing fractional CMO leadership and strategic marketing projects through to launch support, organisational design, stakeholder workshops and marketing effectiveness reviews.

Why work with Pink Mingo?

I’ve worked across startups, scale-ups, agencies and global organisations, both in-house and independently, so I’m used to stepping into fast-moving environments and getting up to speed quickly.

Clients usually bring me in because they want experienced marketing leadership, strategic clarity without unnecessary complexity and practical support that helps teams move forward with confidence.

Frequently asked questions

What does a fractional CMO do?

A Fractional CMO provides senior marketing leadership on a part-time basis.

They help develop marketing strategy, lead teams, improve commercial performance, support product launches, oversee agencies, mentor marketers and ensure marketing aligns with wider business objectives. It's an effective way to access experienced leadership without committing to a full-time executive hire.

When should I hire a Fractional CMO?

Businesses typically hire a Fractional CMO when they're growing quickly, preparing for a major launch, recruiting a permanent marketing leader, restructuring their marketing function or when existing marketing activity isn't delivering the commercial results they need.

How many days does a Fractional CMO usually work?

Every engagement is different. Some clients need support for a couple of days a month, while others require one, two or three days a week during periods of growth or change. Many engagements evolve over time as priorities change.

Can a Fractional CMO manage my existing marketing team?

Yes. Many of my clients already have capable marketing teams but need experienced leadership, coaching, clearer priorities and stronger alignment with business objectives. I regularly work alongside internal teams to help them perform at their best.

Can you work alongside our agency?

Absolutely. I often act as the link between internal stakeholders and external agencies, helping ensure everyone is working towards the same commercial objectives. My role is to provide strategic direction, challenge where needed and make sure agency activity delivers measurable business value.

What’s the difference between a fractional CMO and an interim marketing director?

Fractional CMO support is usually part-time and ongoing, focused on strategic leadership and growth. Interim marketing leadership is typically more hands-on and temporary, often during periods of change, recruitment or transition. Read more about the difference between a fractional CMO and interim marketing.

What types of businesses do you work with?

I mainly work with B2B organisations including professional services, financial services, technology, commercial real estate, startups and scale-ups.

Do you only work with London businesses?

No — I work with organisations across London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and internationally, although I regularly support businesses and leadership teams across London and the South East.

Do you work with startups or only large organisations?

Both. I've worked with venture-backed startups, scale-ups, SMEs and global listed organisations. The common factor isn't company size - it's businesses that want experienced marketing leadership to support growth, change or transformation.

Do you work with private equity-backed businesses?

Yes. I regularly support businesses going through periods of rapid growth, acquisition, integration or commercial transformation, where experienced marketing leadership can help accelerate progress and reduce risk.

Can you recruit a permanent CMO or Marketing Director?

Yes. I often help businesses define the role, shape the organisational structure, support interviews and onboard senior marketing leaders. In many cases, I continue to provide support during the transition to ensure continuity.

Do you help with marketing team structure and hiring?

Yes. I regularly support businesses with marketing organisational design, capability planning and senior marketing hiring decisions.

Can you coach existing marketing leaders?

Yes. I regularly mentor Marketing Managers, Heads of Marketing and newly appointed Marketing Directors who would benefit from additional strategic support, confidence and an experienced sounding board.

Do you work remotely?

Yes. Most engagements combine remote and in-person working. I'm based in Edinburgh and regularly travel to London, Glasgow and elsewhere in the UK and even internationally when face-to-face collaboration adds value.

Do you travel to London?

Yes. I work with a number of London-based clients and regularly travel for workshops, leadership meetings, planning sessions and key project milestones. I lived in London for most of my life and love that so many of my clients are based in the city. It means I still get to spend a lot of time there.

Which sectors do you specialise in?

My experience is strongest in B2B organisations, particularly technology, SaaS, financial services, professional services, commercial real estate, publishing and businesses going through growth or transformation. However, the marketing leadership challenges I solve are often similar across sectors.

How quickly can you start?

Usually within a few weeks, depending on my availability and the nature of the project. If you have an urgent requirement, such as covering a leadership gap or supporting a major launch, I'll always do my best to accommodate it.

Can you help with launches and repositioning projects?

Yes. Alongside fractional leadership, I often support organisations with launches, messaging, positioning and growth-focused marketing initiatives.

How do you typically work with clients?

Support is flexible depending on the business need — from a few days a month through to more hands-on leadership during key projects or transitions.

What happens in a clarity call?

A Clarity Call is a relaxed, no-obligation conversation about your business, your marketing challenges and what you're trying to achieve. I'll ask plenty of questions, share honest advice and, if it feels like the right fit, we'll discuss how we might work together. If I'm not the right person, I'll tell you.
